The Miller House

About The Owners

Larry and Jeanne Kirk purchased the home in 2006 and began plans for restoring the home, as part of the up and coming downtown area. With construction about to get underway in the Historical District, a tornado stuck Owensbor o in October of 2007 causing extensive damage to the home. The back portion of the house was demolished, several windows blew out, and the large tree near the front porch uprooted and landed on the second story roof. Again, the future of this historical home was in question. Fortunately, the damage was surmountable and construction resumed following repairs. Restoration continued throughout the next two years. Over a century after Elmer Miller built his extraordinary home, a new era began. In an effort to restore the ‘Model of Beauty, Elegance and Convenience Throughout’ the Miller House Restaurant opened for busines

Awesome spot in Owensboro. It's built in an old.hkuse, so seating is a little limited, but the food is fantastic. Portion sizes are big so it's also a good value. The meatloaf is DELICIOUS, absolute comfort food. Beyond the food, they also have a fantastic bar with a great whiskey selection down in the basement. Well worth stopping in.

Excellent service and food. The steaks were cooked to the correct temp and the sides and sweet potato rolls were a nice surprise. I was very impressed in the value for what we received. I do recommend making reservations. Great bourbon bar.

Moving back from Charleston, SC has been hard. When I saw shrimp and grits on the menu I got excited. A Charleston staple. And I was surprisingly not disappointed. It was delicious. Everything I've tried at the Miller House is delicious.

Always our go to holiday meal. The biscuit are a bonus. Tonight I had the sirloin with gratin potatoes and spinach. Along with the meal I had a raspberry Manhattan and it was phenomenal. The butterscotch bread pudding was also worth making room for dessert !

Very nice place. Didn't have reservations. They had a cancellation and seated us immediately. Owner/manager came by our table twice to see how we were doing. Great service. Delicious fried green tomatoes. My rib eye was perfect. The ambiance of the old home is amazing. It's a long drive from Indy, but if heading south, it's worth stopping in. We loved it!!!
